Hailey had her babies this morning; NOW I am excited! I counted nine but can only see eight in this photo; I think the ninth one is at the five o'clock position between the baby on the bottom facing the right:


Yesterday afternoon I discovered the rabbit cage roof had a leak; unfortunately the leak saturated Hailey's carefully made nest. After running to Walmart for a tarp to cover the roof and sopping up excess water, I removed the nestbox, dumped the wet straw, dried off the floor as well as I could and then crammed it full of dry hay.  After creating a small hollow in the hay to approximate the old nest, I gave it back to the doe.  Last night she had pulled fur and lined the hollow I had made, and this is what I found this morning so I'm assuming my nest-making abilities are satisfactory.
