Rest well, little Majerle, rest well.

Majerle passed away quietly on my lap in the veterinarian's office on September 4th, after her health took a rapid turn for the worse. She went into serious, serious kidney failure, and the vet explained that the aggressive treatment required (lots of fluids) would very possibly cause her death as she was still having problems with fluid buildup in her lungs. We didn't want her to die from not being able to breathe, so we decided it was in her best interest to have her euthanized.  While I sat with her on my lap, the vet sat in the chair next to me and gave her the fatal shot.  I felt seeing Majerle out of the world was the least I could do for this little creature who had brought so much joy to our lives.  When it was all over, we all were shedding tears, even the vet (who has been treating Majerle since she was a 4 month old pup.)

Lots of things have been going on these past few months, and I'm ready to get back to blogging.  But I wanted to pay Majerle her final respects first.
